EVIN, the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Network, is a company dedicated to making the promise of clean energy transportation a reality through electric vehicles and an infrastructure network. They have worked to develop, patent, and build a system that would allow for the rapid recharge and replacement of standardized battery packs in electric cars at specialized energy service stations.

The plan is a battery pack design which is easily removed and installed, and they envision a service station approach where a car drives in, a technician swaps the battery pack, and off the car goes.
