Maker of a range of electric "bikes" that are either pedal assist mopeds or scooters. The company is based in and sells to India. They position electric scooters as being beneficial for India's traffic conditions: "Traffic congestion is increasing dramatically in major cities around the world. In many large cities journey speeds are less than 40 kmph on average and less than 10 kmph in the city center.Lot of time, fuel gets wasted, vehicles get stuck, and frustration rises."
I've been to a large city in India (Bangalore) and the traffic there is amazing, extremely densely packed roads, and with stop-n-go traffic their gas engines are idling most of the time, and two-wheelers are most common since they are the most practical for packed roads. Four wheelers simply make the traffic jam worse whereas two wheelers can sneak through the traffic.
"top speed of 55 KMPH, a range of 60km, 0-40 km/h in 5 seconds, and outstanding handling, the XITE-scooterette redefines electric vehicle performance....Green saver Batteries 48-volt, 27 Ah, 1kW-h Silicon battery pack "
At the moment their website doesn't show that scooter. Instead their website shows several low power scooters (250 watts) and promises two higher power models, 1000w and 1500w. Their website also promises an electric "Auto" soon, "Auto" being the name in India the three wheelers that ubiquitously offer taxi service around the country.
