| Avoid using fossil fuels |
Fossil fuels make nasty effects upon the environment. Mining, processing, distributing and using any fossil fuel releases many toxic chemicals into the environment, and releases previously sequestered carbon. The carbon in the fossil fuels was sequestered through the natural cycle of plants and animals living, dying, and their bodies decaying into fossil fuels. What's causing the environmental and climate problems is the release of those materials. Fossil fuels are in limited supply and increasingly are only available from unfriendly countries. read more... |
| Consumption is an innate attribute of all animals, including humans |
All living organisms eat food to live. We (they) breath air to live. We (they) drink water to live. We (they) do this all day long, every day of the year. All animals and all plants do this. A significant differentiation between living and dead things is: consumption. Dead things do not consume, living things do consume. Living things both consume and expel. The process can be called inhale and exhale, or eat and defectate, or drink and sweat. There are many forms of consumption with different words labeling each form. read more... |
| Minimizing resources required to achieve desired results of our activities |
Each of our activities causes consumption of some kind of resource. The consumption may be as simple as the breathing we do during the activity, or the food we ate to have the bodily energy for the activity. The consumption can be complex such as the gasoline and metals and plastics required for cross-country road trips. Consumption is an innate attribute of all animals including humans. read more... |
| The people should be primary over the corporations and governments |

That is ridiculous, corporations do not breath, nor eat, nor defecate, nor have sex, nor any of the other acts which natural born persons perform. In any case the question is which entities correctly have primacy? This principle contends that it is People who should have primacy over all other entities in society. read more... |
| The potential computation per unit of computer resource increases over time |
This is an obvious consequence of the increasing capabilities of computers. The engineers designing computer systems have been able to increase capabilities every year while decreasing cost and decreasing resource utilization. read more... |
| Using a web application often requires more resources than using a local desktop application |
There are a lot of uncontrolled-for variables in this assertion. However it is often the case that it requires more network bandwidth to service a web application than it does to service an equivalent desktop application. read more... |
