I suppose it's in the same sort of vein as the "This is your brain .. this is your brain on drugs" advertising from the 1980's. That is, present a different viewpoint in a catchy format that gets the attention of the viewer.
Judging from the comments on the treehugger posting, treehuggers are tending to not like the advertisement.
